High Camp Wines: High Vibes & Tasty Wines

High Camp Wines sits beautifully atop the rolling hills of San Miguel, California. Once home to roaming sheep and cattle, it's now part of the renowned Paso Robles AVA. The deep, fertile soil and varied sun exposure make it perfect for growing premium wine grapes.

But, it is the winemakers and heads of the winery, engaged-couple, Megan Mouren & Spencer Rawles, that give High Camp Wines it’s joie de vivre, and adventurous, youthful spirit…qualities that one might say are lacking in current wine culture. Spencer and Megan, both hailing from creative backgrounds, (she owned a clothing boutique and he was a set design artist in Los Angeles) jumped right into revamping the brand to reflect their welcoming, stylish, and nature-loving vibes. Spencer hand-draws all of the imagery on the wine labels and Megan still runs a small boutique attached the modern-boho tasting room, which she decorated. Approachable and relatable, they provide the perfect place for family and friends to gather and celebrate life.

For both of them, taking over the winery felt like coming home. Megan comes from a long line of farmers and ranchers, while Spencer also grew up on a farm. Not afraid of a little hard work, they rolled up their sleeves and got down to the business of learning winemaking. They’ve brought a fresh energy to their rustic property and its old vines and are eager to share their creations with other wine lovers.

High Camp Wines boasts ten different varietals spread across their 75-acre vineyard…and we LOVED tasting our way through them! All wines are crafted with old-world winemaking techniques, allowing the unique personality of each grape variety to shine through in every bottle. These wines are made for everyone, from newcomers to connoisseurs, who will taste the distinct terroir of San Miguel, a place with a winemaking history dating back to the early 1800s.

Whether you're drawn by the stunning scenery, handcrafted artisan wines, fascinating history, or the chance to make new friends, High Camp is a must-visit destination for every Central Coast wine lover.
